Assuming we move through the steps to relaxation of lockdown on the planned dates, High House will be open as follows:
April 12 onwards – Use by one household / bubble only
May 17 Onwards – Use by two households / bubbles or group of up to 6 from separate households with social distancing.
June 21 Onwards – Normal use – fingers crossed!!
We are still planning 4 night bookings (Arrive Thursday pm, leave by Monday pm) to allow 72 hours quarantine
Members who had bookings cancelled in December and January due to tier 4 and lockdown have now rebooked and we have the following weekends still available:
One household only
May 6-9
May 13-16
Two households only, or rule of 6
June 10-13
June 17-20
Please email Hugh (jhugh.taylor@btinternet.com) by midday next Saturday 27 March if you would like to reserve any of the above weekends. As usual, if demand exceeds supply names will be drawn out of a hat!
Due to cancellations and re-arrangements the following weekends are available at High House:
3-7 December – first come first served – contact Hugh asap
17-21 December
24-28 December – “Christmas bubble”- up to 3 households
31 December – 4 January
14 – 18 January
28 January – 2 February
With the exception of Christmas the bookings are for single households from tier 1 or 2 only unless the tier for Cumbria is reviewed.
The hut is available from 5pm Thursday – 5pm Monday
Please contact Hugh (jhugh.taylor@btinternet.com) asap if you are interested. This coming weekend will be allocated first come first served but we will see how much interest there is in the other weekends in order to allocate them fairly.

We will review Christmas, New Year and beyond as we get more information and if regulations change. Unfortunately members cannot go to the hut without a booking at the moment.
The hut will be completely closed for quarantine for at least 72 hours between bookings (from 5pm on Monday to 5pm on Thursday).
Bookings will be taken as one group booking and the lead booker is responsible for following the government guidance at the time of their visit for their home area and for Allerdale, Cumbria. They must also agree to adhere to the current rules for the use of High House.

Priority will be given to those who have not already been to the hut either as their own booking or guests of others. In case of more demand than weekends available we will draw bookings out of a hat and allocate in order.

The re-opening of High House to pre-booked members has gone well – 42 members, family and guests have had the pleasure so far and the hut is sparkling clean!
We have given existing external weekend bookings the option of keeping the booking if they can do it within the government guidelines and some have taken up the offer but many have cancelled and there are therefore some more weekends available for members.
The hut is available for long weekend bookings (5pm Thursday to 5pm Monday) on the following weekends

We will review future months as we get more information and if regulations change.

Dear members
We are delighted to be able to re-open High House from Thursday 9 July but as you can imagine it won’t be business as usual and members will not be allowed to stay at High House without a booking.
We are following BMC and the latest government guidance and will publish all the risk assessments, procedures for use, temporary amendment to the High House policy etc in the next few days however we would like to open up the bookings as soon as possible to allow members to make plans.
